Beneath the Surface, Beyond the Leak: Tanking You Can Trust
Protecting Below-Ground Spaces from Water Ingress
Moisture in the soil and groundwater puts below-ground areas at constant risk of water entry. Without proper tanking, water can seep through cracks, joints, or even porous concrete. As a result, dampness, mould, and structural damage may occur. These issues can compromise both the safety and comfort of any building.
Why Tanking Matters
Tanking plays a vital role in maintaining the health of a building. It prevents water from causing long-term deterioration. In addition, it protects occupants from health hazards linked to damp and mouldy environments. Meeting the standards for dry, habitable spaces below ground is also a key requirement for modern construction.
Our Waterproofing Solutions
To ensure the best results, our team uses only certified and proven tanking membranes. The type of membrane selected depends on the unique needs of each project. This approach allows us to provide tailored solutions for every situation.
Types of Tanking Membranes
Peel and Stick Membranes
○ Bituthene
This flexible, self-adhesive membrane is designed to stop water from entering building structures. It combines a rubberised asphalt layer with a strong HDPE film, providing both flexibility and reliable waterproofing.
○ Viking Peel and Stick membrane
Specially made for below-ground use, this membrane creates a secure, watertight seal on basement walls and beneath floor slabs.
○ Ardex WPM 3000x
Featuring a peel-and-stick design, this membrane is ideal for below-ground waterproofing and damp-proofing. Its SBS rubber-modified bituminous core offers flexibility and can handle movement in the substrate, reducing the risk of cracks.
Torch-On Tanking Membrane
○ Viking Torch-on tanking Mercury FC
This torch-applied membrane system is built for below-ground tanking and damp-proofing. The 4mm thick SBS rubberised bitumen membrane, reinforced with polyester and fibreglass, delivers both flexibility and strength.
Under Floor Slab Membrane
○ Preprufe 300R Plus
Widely used in New Zealand and abroad, this high-performance, pre-applied waterproofing system is designed for critical below-ground applications. It provides robust protection beneath floor slabs, keeping spaces dry over the long term.
